Crucible Paragraph Example

(ST) Salem Witch trials empowered previously powerless girls by boosting their confidence and crdibility to God-like standards. (LI) John Proctor complains about the girls' new found power when he says (CD) " we are what we always were in Salem, but now the little crazy children are jangling the keys of the kingdom, and common vengeance writes the law" (Miller 77). (CM) Proctor is trying to get the point across that the girls have virtually all the power in the court and their words have become undeniable, The power of the girls was being used for revenge for their personal power and really let it get to her head was Abigail. (LI) she questions Danforth's authority when she yells (CD) " let you beware Mr.Danforth. Think you to be so mighty that the power of Hell may not turn your wits? Becaus of it" (Miller 108)! (CM) Abigail has started to think of herself as having even higher power than Judge Danforth, so she feels like she is able to threaten him. Abigail's power has officially gotten out of hand because now even the highest official in the court cannot contain her. (CS0 The girls' newfound powers overwhelm them, but they take full advantage of what they can do."
