American Work Ethics
Lance Winslow believes that America has gone through an economic decline because of American’s poor work ethics. He feels that we need to stop this. He thinks this is because of reality T.V. series like Donald Trumps You’re fired. His observations are interesting however he is wrong.
Lance Winslow states that America has a poor work ethic. This assumption is however wrong. He thinks that we are lazier than the previous generation. He is however wrong. He may think this because he is from an older generation where intellectual jobs were more uncommon so most work was done laboriously. This lifestyle leads to older people to believe that American work ethics today are lazier. The advancements of technology over a decade has been tremendous. Computers used to have to take up a fourth of a room. Now they have became small enough to hold in our hands. This development must have taken long hours of days and sleepless nights. Much other advancement in medicine, transportation, and science has also occurred in this short amount of time. Lance believes we are lazy and is the reason why our economy has reached a decline.
Lance Winslow believes that an economic decline has occurred because of the work ethic of Americans today. The economy today however is not as bad as the Great Depression. This is happening because we are aware that we should not let this type of economic downfall happen again. We have seen the mistake of our older generation and wish to not repeat these same mistakes. The recent economic downfall could be a cause of many different factors such as increase in population and the recent outsourcing of jobs. The job field has become more competitive so the lower educated jobs are given to people of 3rd world countries. So in America this leaves harder jobs that require an extensive amount of education. In the past you could make a living off a high school diploma. This is however untrue today because of such a competitive field of jobs. Older generations may see Americans working in offices instead of working in factories. This will cause older generations to believe that our generation is lazy because we don’t get our hands dirty or as dirty as they used to have them. However we have made this dangerous job of factory working unneeded because we have created robots to do these jobs. This however still creates jobs of marinating and advancing this new technology.

In conclusion Lance Winslow’s view is respected however he fails to see all the advancements that have been made through a short amount of time. This is because of a great work ethic and an in depth understanding of the world around us. The economic downfall has happened because of a competitive field and companies trying to save money by outsourcing jobs and avoiding labor laws. The economic downfall is because of corporate decision and not because of the workers inability to work hard. America’s decline in economy has been shocking however this can be fixed with the new advancements in the world which will create new jobs and restore our economy to its previous glory.

Body Art
Visible body is a popular fashion and is accepted in pop culture. However this is a hindrance in the workplace and an employer should have the option to have the decision to not employ an applicant due to body art.  This creates a distraction and can create problems for a company who is looking to create a clean image for their business. This trend is however seen through much of the world.

Amy Judd says in her statement that facial piercings and tattoos are becoming more common. I agree with this statement. Body art is a fashion in the world that is trending and is all over the media. Many famous people have been a part of this trend and this has been a cause of its spread in society. Some examples of this are Lil Wayne and Mike Tyson. These people are seen as people who are “cool” and are enjoying their life. This has become an art that many people enjoy and accepted artistic form. Even though this is all true employers should have the right to not employ an applicant because of body art.
Body art has definitely become a popular fad. However, this is a hindrance in the workplace and should be a reason for an employer not to hire a potential employee. This assumption that I have made is because an employee of a company is a representative of the company. If the employee is displeasing to another company executive and they are offended by their body art then this may be a deal breaker because this may give a perception that the company is dirty. This assumption will be often made because of the gap between ages of executives and new employees. Most executives are old and in their generation most of the people who had tattoos were in prison or in a gang. This may cause executives to question their security with this person because they don’t know the employees history. This causes a bad impression and the one that is in the meeting with this employee may be distracted and not  fully understand the proposition made by the employee. This can all be avoided by not employing a person with visible body art in the first place. The image of a person is possibly the most important part of a deal.  We use an image of someone as an assumption of their values. Body art projects an image of shadiness and makes others feel insecure about being around them. If someone walked into an interview in basketball shorts and a T-shirt and it was a suit and tie meeting I would think they were unprofessional. I also will not take them as serious. This is the same with body art. This can cause people to feel uncomfortable and can cause a deal to fall apart. This risk can be avoided by not employing the person with body art in the first place. Unemployment of an applicant with body art will not hurt a company and cause them to loose a valuable employee because the job market is a competitive field. There is someone out there who has the same skill set but looks clean and is acceptable in the workplace. This is what Judd is saying in her statement.
The statement made by Judd is controversial but I do agree with her. She is accurate when she says that body art is trending and is more common. She is also accurate when she says that because this is trending this doesn't mean it is acceptable in the workplace. Visible body art shows unprofessionalism and immaturity. Employers should have the right to not employ an applicant because of body art because it can be perceived in a bad way by others in the workplace. This will cause a company to loose business. In conclusion, visible body art should be a reason to not hire an applicant for a job.

Single Point Post Production

In my single point shots I achieved everything I wanted to. I got the effect I wanted to however I did dot have enough time to edit because I was not able to shoot as much as I wanted to. I had to do my pictures basically at the end which gave me no time to edit. I think this was because there were so little spaces and a large amount of students. I used a low ISO which was about 100 and a large aperture. After I figured out those settings I changed my shutter speeds to get a good picture. The equipment was new for me and gave me a little of trouble because of my lack of familiarity.  I hope to fix my editing problem by planning ahead and being quick to the equipment to start shooting. This will give me plenty of time to edit pictures and take new ones if I have to. Next time I hope I will take better pictures than I did this time because I will be more familiar with the equipment and be able to use the equipment to enhance my photos and get a clearer and better effect. Overall I think I did OK with my photos but they could be better next time and go through editing.

In my single point shots I hope to accomplish three types of portraits. The first one I hope to accomplish is a butterfly portrait. The way that I will accomplish this is by using a low ISO of about 100. I will use a medium shutter speed so nothing is under exposed or over exposed. I will place the light under my subject so everything becomes lit and is evenly exposed. The next type of picture I hope to accomplish is a loop portrait. The way I will take this picture is to use the same camera settings I just need to move the light to expose on side of the face. It will be farther away so one side is not completely black but is a little darker than the other. The third picture I hope to accomplish is a Rembrandt portrait. I hope to accomplish this by using the same camera settings. I will move the light to one side but put it far from the subject so everything is evenly exposed but dark. To accomplish my last photo, the split I will put the light close to my subject this will make the effect of half of the face disappearing. I will also use the same camera settings. This is how I hope to accomplish my photos.
