SAT notes September 22,2014
Television has defiantly brought people closer together. The television forum has been used to spark conversations all across the globe. No longer do you just talk about last nights episode with your friend down the street but you talk about them across the world through social media and T.V. show forums. Television doesn't only bring the people of a community together but the people of the world together. The best example of this are superhero T.V. shows. In the 1950's through the 1970's watching superhero shows was lame or considered nerd. In today's society it is admired if not praised. The people of this generation are caught in "Superhero Mania". Superhero memorabilia is worth millions of dollars and the industry itself is worth billions. Television is also bring people closer because there are so many shows on so many different forums that on can enjoy. This can let one enjoy their own shows without fighting with family members to see it. Also with the advancements of DVR and On Demand television this lets one watch shows whenever you want. Movie nights with your friend is no longer at a specific time but it can be whenever you want. You can record a show or movie or just look it up on Hulu, Netflix or anywhere else on the internet. In conclusion television has brought people closer together because it has sparked conversations between strangers that have never been done before.
