SAT notes September 4, 2014 part 2

  • they day before the SAT dont do practice tests
  • Do look over all the tactics listed below so they will be fresh in your mind
  • Set out your test kit the night before
  • first answer all the easy questions
  • change answers only if you have a reason to do so
  • in double blank sentences test one blank at a time not two
  • read all answer choices before you decide which is best
  • a word may have more than one meaning
  • before you look at the choices think of a word that makes sense
  • read as rapidly as you can with understanding
  • as you read opening sentences try to predict what the passage is about
  • base your answer only on what is written in the passage
  • try to answer all the questions on a particular passage
  • whenever you know how to answer a question directly do it
  • no lengthy arithmetic
  • the answer to a grid in question can never be negative
  • you can never grid in a mixed number
  • when girding a decimal point never put a 0 in front
  • there is no penalty for wrong answers on grid ins
