An American is a person who has citizenship to the United States of America. An American doesn't have to be born in the United States they just have to have citizenship to America. To be an American you have to claim the United States as your country. In order to be an American you don't even have to ever have been in America as long as you claim it as your country. Americans look like anyone. An American can be good or bad. I beleive being an American is the best description of equality of the human race
