The Union Pacific and The Central Pacific
encountered many problems while trying to create the transcontinental railroad.
One thing that was a problem was the environment. The Union Pacific had to deal
with the harsh heat of over 100 degrees while the Central Pacific had to deal
with the narrow mountainside of the Sierra’s this created many hazards and many
were injured bad and killed. I think that the Union Pacific faced more problems
because they had to face scorching heat. This made working harder and faster
more difficult because of fatigue. While they also had to transport the wood
from very far away. This is why the Union Pacific faced more
problems.
